Looking into the Bible to investigate or âexploreâ the life and claims of Jesus Christ could turn out to be something
youâll remember for the rest of your life! This guide will help you to examine His life and teachings carefully in
the first four chapters of the Gospel of John, which was written by John the son of Zebedee, a close disciple of
Jesus. (He also wrote four other books of the Bible: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John, and the book of Revelation.) The
account in John chapters 1 through 4 is based on Johnâs first-hand, eyewitness experiences with Jesus Christ.
He followed Jesus from place to place for three years, witnessing His death, resurrection, and ascension to
heaven. John became an apostle of Jesus – specially chosen and commissioned by Him – so he carries special authority as a writer about Jesusâ life.
John himself wrote at the end of his gospel (in chapter 20, verse 31) that his purpose in writing this account was
âthat you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life in His name.â
It would be wonderful if Johnâs reason for writing became your personal experience!
