Cristo Amó a la Iglesia

When men think of the Church, they tend to envision the vast organized system of religion that began to develop a century after the apostolic era, which became under Constantine the state religion of the Roman Empire.  Today various organized religious bodies through out the World, the Roman Catholic, the Greek Orthodox, the State Churches, and the incorporated non-conformist groups represent it.  But is that what is meant by “The Church” in the New Testament?  What is God’s view of the Church?  What was it originally like?  What should it be like today?

Let the Bible speak on the subject!  To some the thoughts expressed in this course will be new, even revolutionary.  Others will recognize a pattern with which they have long been familiar.  But let students measure their understanding of the Church against that which is shown to us in the Bible.

Cuando los hombres piensan en la Iglesia, suelen pensar en un vasto sistema organizado de la religión, pero, ¿qué quiere decir “la Iglesia” en el Nuevo Testamento? ¡Este curso nos da la respuesta! Cuando los hombres piensan en la Iglesia, suelen pensar en un vasto sistema organizado de la religión que empezó a evolucionarse un siglo después de la edad apostólica, que bajo Constantino llegó a ser la religión del estado del Imperio Romano. Hoy varios grupos religiosos organizados en todo el mundo (el Católico Romano, el Ortodoxo Griego, etc.) lo representan. Pero, ¿es eso lo que quiere decir “la Iglesia” en el Nuevo Testamento? ¿Cuál es el parecer de Dios sobre la Iglesia? ¿Cómo fue la Iglesia originalmente? ¿Cómo debe ser hoy en día? ¡Qué hable la Biblia sobre el asunto! Para algunos, los pensamientos expresados en este curso serán nuevos, quizás incluso revolucionarios. Otros reconocerán un modelo que bien conocen. Pero dejemos que los estudiantes midan su entendimento de la Iglesia contra lo que se nos demuestra en la Biblia.
